About the Maestro
Giancarlo Castro D’Addona (Barquisimeto, Venezuela, 1980) is a Venezuelan-Spanish composer, conductor, and trumpeter, awarded the Gold Medal at the Global Music Awards. Trained at El Sistema and the Vicente Emilio Sojo Conservatory, he has been a member and conductor of ensembles such as the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra and the Paris Symphonic Orchestra, with recordings on labels like Deutsche Grammophon and EMI Classics.
As a composer, he blends influences from Latin American music, jazz, and film. His work “Grand Fanfare” has been performed and recorded internationally, as well as pieces like “Llegada de un Noble Maestro” and “Rhapsody for Talents,” which premiered in Paris. He has composed soundtracks for film and television and was the first Venezuelan to conduct one of his works at the Théâtre de la Radio in France. His scores are published by Editions BIM, and he is an artist with STOMVI.

Titles such as “The Man of La Mancha,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” and “The Producers” have been adapted and performed in this iconic cultural venue in Caracas, solidifying its role as a platform for musical theatre in Venezuela.

Life REBORN
Life REBORN It is a science fiction and drama short film directed by Marcel Barragán, filmed and produced in Panama. The story follows Lucas (played by Barragán himself) and his daughter Clarisa (María Alexandra Sanz), who, facing Clarisa’s terminal illness, recreate a space journey as NASA members with the hope of finding a magical universe that can save her.
With a runtime of approximately 12 minutes, the short film has been internationally recognized, winning over 50 awards in countries such as the United States, Mexico, India, Spain, Italy, among others. The accolades include categories like Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Human Content.
The project features a multicultural team and is already in development for a feature-length version. Additionally, social programs inspired by the film have been created, aimed at orphaned children and those with terminal illnesses.
Vitruvi Ana
Science fiction short film directed by Agatino Zurria, starring Ángela del Salto. The story follows Ana Zorita, a Hispanic-American astronaut who decides to abort her final mission and remain on Mars for the rest of her life. The title references Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man, suggesting an exploration of the human condition and the symmetry between science and art.
This short film has been acclaimed for its artistic approach and introspective narrative, exploring themes of isolation, choice, and the search for meaning in extreme contexts.
Love Distance
Seven characters, isolated in their homes, seek connection and comfort through digital means, confronting the aftermath of past relationships and abuse.
